As a DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine), Dr. Saxton is licensed to practice medicine in both North Carolina and Texas. She graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in Chemistry and went on to receive her DO degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee. She completed further training at an HCA hospital in Georgia for residency. During her medical journey, she discovered a passion for helping patients reach optimal health through holistic and alternative pathways.
She approaches well-being and vitality as a whole-body approach incorporating diet, lifestyle, and nutraceuticals in addition to pharmaceuticals when needed. Dr. Saxton enjoy treating patients with complex health issues and finding individual strategies for healing.
She has a special passion for working alongside patients who have been diagnosed with cancer. She has completed advanced integrative oncology training through Dr. Nasha Winters in the Terrain approach to Cancer treatment as described in her book The Metabolic Approach to Cancer.
In addition, she is a voting member of ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Disease Society) and has completed their physician training program. She has completed advanced functional medicine courses in hormones optimization and naturopathic dermatology.
